First flight & Arrival Camp & Second flight
01:12
First flight (Zürich - Oslo)
I was very glad, that I
didn't have to fly alone. I flow with Maira, she's doing also an exchange year
in Norway. I knew her a bit from the preparation camp we had in Switzerland in
spring. She's a friendly and nice person, we got very good along with each
other. After we said goodbye to our families and friends, we were on ourselves
:’-( We passed the security area and got in the plane. We both were sooooooo
nervous :) The flight lasted two and a half hour, it passed quiet quieckly
because we talked about our host families and the arrival camp, in which we will
be for the first two days.
When we arrived in Oslo we
waited for our luggage at the feeder band. Me and Maira decided to split up,
she will search someone from AFS and I will wait for our luggage. What a stupid
plan xD. So I waited for like ten minutes until I got our luggage and started
waiting for my Maira. After another fifteen minutes I realized, if something happens
to Maira I'm screwed -.- because I
couldn't move, our luggage was too heavy for one person... So I had no other opportunity
than waiting until she hopefully returns. What I didn't know during that time
is, that she actually found somebody from AFS, but they couldn't return to the
feeder band because they already passed the security are. Another ten minutes
passed until they managed to get to me again. So everything ended well.
Arrival Camp
We arrived at the arrival
camp at 19:30. The arrival camp was in a nice hotel half an hour from the
airport in Oslo. There we realized, we are not the only persons which chose
Norway. We were more or less 100 persons from all over the country. 25 Italian,
13 French, 2 Switzerland... We passed in these two days a great time. We had a
lot of activities... We learned a bit JUST A BIT! Norwegian. Mostly we learned things about the country and culture
in Norway. I slept in a room with a guy from Italy and another from Argentine.
We got really good along with each other. We talked in the evening or even in
the night about everything but not then expected about our host families or and
our exchange year. It was a sad but at the same time an exciting good bye from
the other exchange students.
Second flight (Olso - Bodø)
Bodø is in the region 5 of
AFS-Norway that means I'm in the northest region in Norway. I had to get up at
5am with the other exchange students from region 5, we had to take the bus to
the airport at 6am. We checked together in and got on the same plane. Everybody
from region 5 hat to take the plane to Bodø, because it's one of the biggest
airports in the north of Norway. I realized I will be at the same school in
Bodø with a girl from Germany and a guy from French called Flavien. They seemed
to be really nice and friendly. There was also a Italian girl, which will spend
her exchange year in Bodø, but she will go on another school. The flight took
one hour and twenty minutes. The flight was pretty nice because we started in
Oslo, which is mostly flat and surrounded from forest. The more we got north
during our plane the more you saw the real Norway <3 suddenly there
were big mountains with snow directly at the sea with a lot of Fjords.
